Gladys Louise McKee

Gladys Louise McKee, 103, of East Brainerd went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 11, 2023.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mrs. McKee was a member of Morris Hill Baptist Church for over 40 years and the Agape Sunday School Class.

She was a member of the East Ridge O.E.S. and was a retired cosmetology instructor from the Sequoyah Vocational School, Chattanooga State Community College and Rutledge Beauty College.

She served faithfully as a pastors wife alongside her husband, Rev. John C. (Jake) McKee until his death in 1989.     She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ponder & Edna Woods; and 2 grand-daughters, Rhonda Kaye Henderson and  Cecilia DeeAnn Archer.

Survivors are her 2 daughters, Edna Camp, Chattanooga and Charlotte (David) Henderson, Dalton, GA;  2 grandchildren, Sheri Thrower, Ringgold, GA and Andrea (Tim) Jones, Calhoun, GA;  5 grandchildren, Ashlee Hobbs, Michael Thrower, Averi Thrower, Luke Jones, and Jake Jones;  3 great-great-grandchildren, Khloe Hobbs, Kaleb Smith, and Dahlia Thrower.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 14th at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Mason and Rev. James Click officiating.   A graveside service will be held Friday, September 15th at 10 am at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Eddie Lewis, Junior Humphries, Mitch Moss, Bill Laubscher, Dave Copeland, and Eddie Cannon serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Garland Nance, Lebron Henry, Bill Bratten, Danny Coker, and Clyde Roberts.
